Hello Fellow Rotarians!
Featured Member: Matt Hatty!
I am the fifth of the ten children of Ronald and Lorraine Hatty (five boys and five girls).
I graduated from Divine Child High school in 1979 and Hillsdale College in 1983, graduating with a
double major of Mathematics and International Business.
I met my wife, Jackie, in January of 1983 at Hillsdale College. We will have been married 34 years this
coming June. We have five children (Matthew, Christine, Mitchell, Caroline and Maximillian) and two
grandchildren (Hayden and Hunter).
I worked as a Systems Analyst at The Rouge Steel Company for five years before buying Fun Services
with Jackie from her parents, which we have owned and operated since March of 1989.
Jackie & I traveled to China in 2006 with our Fun Services friends from around the country. I wanted to
see the Great Wall of China, which I remembered learning about in grade school. But visiting the Terra-
cotta Soldiers in Xian, China, turned out to be the highlight of the trip. However, we DID have a snowball
fight on the Great Wall of China and helped prevent the Huns from invading!
We went to London, England in 2015 to watch the Detroit Lions play the Kansas City Chiefs at Wembley
Stadium (See picture). While there we saw the lighting of the Christmas decorations on Regent Street
Jackie and I hope to have more adventures like this in the future, with France and Italy as two of the
countries in Europe that we would like to visit.
I joined Rotary in March of 2009 to follow my father’s example of giving back to the community. Not
only are the service projects we do rewarding, but the friendships I have found make Rotary truly
worthwhile.

I was the 1979 City of Dearborn 1-Mile and 2-Mile champion in high school track and field.
I was a two-time Academic All-American in cross-country at Hillsdale College.
I was called on stage in Las Vegas to “replace” the dummy in a ventriloquist’s act.
