Congratulations to Jennifer Jones

Jennifer E. Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, has been nominated to become Rotary International’s president for 2022-23, a selection that will make her the first woman to hold that office in the organization’s 115-year history.

A current Rotary Foundation trustee, Jones has been a member since 1997 and has served Rotary as vice president, director, training leader, committee chair, moderator, and district governor. Read more on the nomination: https://on.rotary.org/2DDj58H

Did you sign up for the District Conference?

We encourage everyone of our members to please consider attending the "Grand Experience". Simply click on the link below and secure your seat for what is sure to be a production for the ages.

Remember, kids under 12 eat and sleep for free, eight fantastic meals, round trip ferry costs and ground transport all included, one of the majestic rooms only found at the Grand, speakers that will inspire even the most inspired among us and the inevitable laughs that come with getting away with a few hundred friends.

If you plan on attending, get your reservation in ASAP. If you are considering it and need a little help making that final decision please feel free to contact myself, Mike McCullough or Noel and let's all get "Back to Mack" in 2021!

YIR,

Mark

Ann Rudicil- Downriver for Veterans will discuss her personal interaction with Mike Rowe on Returning the Favors with our group at noon Aug. 10 meeting.

President's Corner

Hi all,
Despite the fact that our group is usually pretty slow this time of year, it feels like we are definitely still out here rocking it! This is the year of ACTION H.E.R.O's , Support our District 6400 Governor Noel, Hands On Projects and Member engagement through Peace, Kindness and ACTION!

Join us and Wear your Capes! Aug. 15- Skydive for Polio with District Gov. Noel,  Aug. 22- Wounded America- Cancelled? Invoices- please print statement with check for Bruce and pay amount or deduct $22. Sept. 21- District Gov. Golf Outing. Oct. 12-PM Group Golf Outing.

Update on in person meetings- N. McLouth Park- will try another time, Westfield- still not open and checking on the new Jefferson Banquet Center. Will also be looking at other Covid issues before we set open meetings again.

Membership Update- We are down to 70 members since Andrea joined us at 74 members last month:(  Through our membership retention calls we have found Rick Williams, Niel Mator, Justin Keenan and possibly Chard Rosso have left the club. We feel it is imperative that we continue to connect with members and have bills out consistently so we can maintain the health of club. Thanks to Rose Angela, Paulette and Valerie for leading this effort! I have also contacted personally 5 new potential and old members this month. 2 told me no, one no answer, but Ed Quirk and Erin Shelton said they would try! Who can you ask to join a meeting this week?

Fundraiser Update: We will do one big fundraiser this year virtually. We will not have the Wild Game or Shamrock. Mark Angellotti will head this up and is looking for a co-chair. We plan to kick it off in Jan and run it as a March madness raffle. Details coming soon!

Peace chain nominations- Mark Angellotti (so far we have 9!)
