Boujee Banquet

Breaking Boujee News: Trenton Rotary and the City of Trenton combined their talents and resources to present the Boujee Banquet held Valentine’s Eve at the Westfield Center. A maximum capacity of nearly 200 participated in the rebranding of the State of the City / Awards banquet . . . And the transformation of Westfield into a very Boujee venue!

Sponsors, award recipients and attendees alike rated the event 5 stars for value, food, entertainment and experience. City administrator Dean Creech, P&R Director Tim Beaker and Dr. Noel Jackson sent notes of congratulations to Co-chairs Kathy Kane, Mike McCullough and the committee reflecting the many comments they received. After Major Steven Rzeppa’s State of the City address, several citizens were recognized for outstanding their service.

Three non-Rotarians were presented Paul Harris Fellowships for their commitment to our community. They are: Police Chief Mike Hawkins, photographer Jim Jacek and Walmart manager Matt Vanlente. “Mister Nicks” was named Trenton’s Business of the Year.

The Sports Wall of Fame added three new recipients: Ilene Flanagan, David Fisher and Howard Hammes. Captain Josh Hodge was named Outstanding Firefighter and Garret Hughes was named Trenton’s Outstanding Police Officer.  Mayor Rzeppa recognized Brody Thompson as Trentonite of the Year.

Committee members were: Noel Jackson, Dean Creech, Joanie Barnett, Tim Beaker, Ronnie Ruelle, Isabella Frendo, Rose Angela Gronda, Gloria Jabro, Bill Jasman, Heather Lear, Katelyn McFall, Peter Poulos, Angelia Pusino, Mayor Steven Rzeppa, and Co-Chairs Kathy Kane & Mike McCullough.

Net proceeds are expected to exceed $10,000 and will help fund scholarships, tree plantings and other Rotary charities.

A wrap up meeting will be held Tuesday at noon in Trenton City Hall to discuss plans and a vision for a bigger, better, Boujee Banquet. Your comments are welcome.
