Beautiful News
Beautiful News

I had the great pleasure of going to our satellite club at Sibley's this last week. We inducted a new member, Pete Rendina. Of course, Noel and Mike brought a great message about Rotary touching the world and how Pete would be a part “Creating Hope in the World”, as Jessica Bazner, who has sponsored Pete, had pinned him.  This younger group of successful people bring joy to my heart as I see they want to impact our world. And, what's even greater is that they want to do it differently then how we did it. This ever-changing world needs this generation, as they come in the way it needs, to do to what it needs to be done.
Pete, we are so happy to have you join us as we all work together to make this world a more beautiful place.

Paulette and I had the honor of being at the Walmart Re-Grand Opening of the Woodhaven store. The Manager Matt Vanlente described the remodel as “The Store of the Future”.  They gave out multiple grants and we were one of them to received $1000. He also took us around to show us all the new features and benefits of the remodel.

My “Honk Your Horn Monday” moment.
I had so much joy when I saw one of our members, Emily Schnetzler, as one of the Honor Guards at the Walmart event. The group marched in and presented the flags and Emilee was holding the USA flag. But later that day, when I went to a funeral, I saw Emily again presenting as an Honor guard for this fallen veteran.

I was filled with such awe as I watched her march in and out. I was proud on so many levels.  First, that she served our country. Second, that she continues to honor our city, our country and our Rotary Club.  And I know her family feels that pride, love and more. Beautifully done Emily, we are better people for knowing and working beside you.

“To serve is beautiful, but only if it is done with joy and a whole heart and a free mind!”

Serving beautifully beside you,
