Vocational Minute: Yes, our club is home to Trenton's own Mayor, Kyle Stack, she has served as Past president for the club and is very active behind the scenes for many events despite her schedule. She and her husband Bill Jasman chair the Family Fun Fair every year and coordinate the raffles for the club. Make sure to like the City Facebook page to find out what is happening in Trenton.

Trenton Rotary “Oktoberfest” Euchre Tournament

Trenton Rotary “Oktoberfest” Euchre Tournament – To all those Euchre enthusiasts out there, come on down to the Westfield Center in Trenton on Saturday, September 29^th for a fun-filled evening of Euchre, raffles and craft beer! Oktoberfest runs from September 22^nd to October 7^th this year in Munich, Germany so Trenton Rotarians have decided to celebrate as well! Ticket prices are $25 per person and includes entry into the tournament, Dearborn Sausage hot dogs along with chips, cookies, water and pop. Michigan-made Craft Beer along with wine and domestic beer will be available for purchase. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to play. Prize money totaling $500 available for the winning players! The proceeds from the event will benefit the charities that the Trenton Rotary Club supports throughout the year. You can purchase tickets online through the Trenton Rotary website at www.trentonrotary.net or by visiting one of the following locations to purchase them in person: Timber’s Hair Salon, Trenton City Hall or during Trenton Rotary meetings at Westfield Center on Mondays between noon and 1pm. President's Corner

Happy Monday everyone,

Another meaningful Rotary week started when Kim Fix from Huron-Clinton Metro Parks spoke to our club about park amenities and the role they play in making Southeast Michigan a great place to live and work. Monday night was our second gathering of the Extension Club and though a low turnout many good ideas were shared. Thursday started with a Board meeting and ended with a spirited Fundraising and Fellowship meeting. I cannot say thank you enough to the Board and the committee members for being so supportive. Mark your calendars to help us load totes for the elementary school teachers this Wednesday at 4:45 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Thank you Bill and Kyle for you roles in making sure our local grant has the greatest impact. Upcoming in September we have fellowship time at John Howey’s on September 13^th and a new fundraising effort in the form of a Euchre Tournament on the 29^th. I would like to ‘be the inspiration’ for anyone who has interest in joining a committee. Seek me out after a meeting and I will find a way for you to get involved and find out how our club has become the force that we are.
