President's Corner
Hello fellow Rotarians!
Our new Rotary year has begun with a Roar! We celebrated another fabulous
Roar on the River last week and I must commend the Roar Committee for again making magic happen!
Our weather was extremely pleasant, a few degrees warmer might have sold a little more beer, but overall it seemed very successful. Along with Mother Nature smiling down on us with the weather, we experienced a safe weekend, both on the water and in the park, and for that I am very grateful. Trenton Police did a great job with their presence and we were able to let them know we support them. I am very humbled, excited and proud to lead Trenton Rotary Club this year. Our first board meeting last Thursday, was a great start to making this club of ours better than ever! I look forward to hearing ideas for improvement from any of our members, anytime. Our new caterer, Round House BBQ has made a great beginning to offering us delicious food and
new choices. Chris Hancock the owner of Round House BBQ along with his Chef, Brad are making sure we are enjoying our meal. The comments I have heard are positive and we look forward to what great choices are in store for our meetings!
Last week we began our Rotary Moment, part of our weekly meeting. One Rotarian will speak for just
a minute or two about when they became a “Rotarian”, that moment when you get a tug at your heart
and you experience the true understanding of what Rotary really means!
Also last week, we took a picture of everyone who donated to my Purple Pinky for Polio campaign, during Roar on the River and some at last weeks meeting. So far, we have raised $1150 towards my goal of $2500 for Polio.
I am working on an updated Club directory that should be done within two weeks.
Thank you for this opportunity to be your President and lead our club to new and meaningful months ahead!
Yours in Rotary,
Laurie Dixon
