Community Service Update

by Paulette Dillingham

Trenton Rotary has partnered with Trenton High School Interact Club and Cub Scout pack 1730 for a “Spread the Love” peanut butter drive.  With the school year ending soon, at risk children may not get lunch on a regular basis as they have been.  Our drive will help fill St Philip food pantry and Salvation Army food pantry for coming months.

The Howey Foundation has generously donated $500 towards this effort and Meijer Woodhaven has gladly agreed to match that amount for us.

We are pleased to have a collaboration with our young people in the community.  We are off to a great start!  Rotarians May bring their donation to the Monday and 6:01 meetings.

If you would rather drop off a check at the meeting we can purchase the peanut butter for you.

President's Corner

Dear Trenton Rotary Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I share news of the passing of some cherished individuals connected with our Trenton Rotary family. Jim Schropp, a dedicated member of 12 years, Pete Rendina's wife Kylie, and Jessica Bazner's uncle have all left us. Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with their families during this challenging time.

Despite these losses, our community spirit remains strong. The recent performance of "Phantom of the Opera" by DYPAC brought joy to all who attended.

Moreover, our collaborative tree planting initiative with the City of Trenton was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members. Special recognition goes to Mao Huang, Noel Jackson, Brendan Gillespie, and the leadership of Paul Frost for their outstanding contributions.

In addition, I'm delighted to announce that during our recent board meeting, with both current and incoming board members present, we unanimously voted in Ronnie Ruelle as the President Nominee for our club. Ronnie's commitment and passion for service make her an excellent choice, and we look forward to her leadership in the coming term.

Let's continue to support each other and our community, celebrating moments of joy and providing solace during times of sorrow.

Beautifully yours,
Kimberly Mott
