Trenton's Interact Club is participating in the Gravity Water Youth Initiative Fall 2024
The Gravity Water Youth Initiative Program partners with school administration, clubs, and groups in private and public K-12 schools within the U.S. These students learn about the global water crisis and fundraise to build clean water systems at schools in need worldwide. Gravity Water combines rainwater harvesting, elevated storage, and gravity-fed filtration, providing communities in developing countries with a source of safe drinking water that is on-site, self-sustaining, and 100% energy-free.
Each participating school that raises $2,500 or more will fully sponsor a sister school in Vietnam and receive a banner with their school name displayed at the sister school.
We are excited to work with some amazing schools and clubs this fall.
WALK-A-THON: Students will "Walk for Water" on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 9:00 am in Elizabeth Park.
Secretary's Update

During September's Board Meeting, several donations were approved, including the Step Up Foundation, the Downriver Council for the Arts, the Foster Closet, and to Trenton Public Schools for Banner to sponsor 3 Seasons for the 2024-2025 year.
The Board also approved 2 Peace Poles to be installed at the Westfield Center and St. Philip Lutheran Church in Trenton, Sewing machines to support widows in India, a table donation to sponsor the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance's 18th Annual Benefit dinner on October 17, 2024, and the TEF table donation for their Signature Event on November 15, 2024.
Our total membership is currently at 74 with the induction of Victoria Brown and Nacxit Calderon during the Howey Picnic and the resignation of 3 members, Sean McNally, Leisa Finazzo, and Emily Schneitzler. The Board will be creating a 'Rotary Core' group in Club Runner to keep non-member core contacts engaged and in the loop with current events.
Also, Member Engagement Chair, Ronnie Ruelle is requesting ideas for future club social events.
Community Service Update
Salvation Army Coat Drive.
As you are cleaning out closets this fall, please set aside any gently used coats you may be getting rid of for the Salvation Army Coat Drive. They will be looking for gently used and new coats. When we get a date from them, we will let you know when to bring your coats to our Rotary meetings. Please hold on to any you may have right now.

President's Corner
Ron Sheck fell at this cottage last Saturday night and broke his hip. He had surgery last Sunday morning in Gaylord. He is currently at Inpatient Rehab at Rochester Ascension (now Henry Ford Health Rochester). Ron can receive cards at the rehab facility (room 724 B) and is expected to be there for 10 to 14 days. Bob Haveman spoke to him last week. He is doing ok, but is in a lot of pain/discomfort. Please keep Ron in your prayers.
Reminder no meetings on November 4th & 11th, as the Westfield Center is closed.

Service Project - Making Paracord Bracelets
Thank you to everyone who joined us last week to make the paracord bracelets. We had over 30 Rotarians, spouses and students from Interact. Thank you to Mike Concessi for donating a pizza for everyone to enjoy. We made 114 bracelets and exceeded our goal. Kathy Jacek and the Blue Star Mothers thank us for our support with this project. We had fun while making a difference to the deployed Military.
