Welcome Rotarians!
Last week we held our Club Assembly, where we shared several exciting updates. The board presented one upcoming change designed to boost member engagement and attract new faces. Beginning in January 2026, the last Monday of each month will be dedicated to an evening social event or field trip.
These events will be organized by our Member Engagement Chair and the Club President. Each month, we’ll announce the location and ask members to RSVP. These gatherings will be open to all members and their spouses or guests, offering a fun way to connect outside of our regular meetings. Stay tuned for more details as plans take shape!
We also reviewed and approved several donations, including
- Grosse Ile polio fundraiser - $500 – 4 tickets
- Christnet - $1,500 donation
- SWCRC – sponsor THS students for Mike Duggan forum - $175
- Downriver prayer breakfast - $2000 - 10 tickets
- Trenton Goodfellows gift cards for teens - $500
- Fish & Loaves Santa’s Magic Forest sponsorship - $1,000

Marvelous Monday
Last week’s well-deserved recipient was Bob Howey. Through the Howey Foundation, Bob donated two brand-new rowing shells to the Trenton High School rowing team. He also arranged a special Rotary visit to the Wyandotte Boat Club, where we met with students, parents, and coaches.
It was truly moving to hear how much these new boats mean to the team and to witness their excitement firsthand. Bob, you are a true hometown hero—your generosity continues to make a lasting difference in our community. Thank you for your dedication and heart for service!
Today, we’re honored to welcome District Governor Linda Morrow for her official visit. I’m looking forward to hearing her vision for the year ahead. Hope to see everyone at Truago at noon today!

Ghana Trip
Children in Ghana rarely receive anything new! Thanks to a District Governor golf outing Grant that the Rotary Club of Harrow received, we were able to purchase 500 backpacks for these kiddos, and thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Wayne foundation we were able to fill those backpacks with essential school supplies, toiletries, toothbrush, and toothpaste and a toy for each child enrolled in the school we are renovating in the village of Assin Kyinaso. Now these children have the tools they need to succeed in their studies thanks to Rotary and the kind hearts of District 6400 Rotarians!
