Greetings Trenton Rotarians!
It was an interesting week for your Club President. Besides being the busiest week of my work year, and losing a truck on the busiest pick-up day of the week, I survived to enjoy an evening with my Rotarian family. But more about that shortly.
The week started with Kathy Kane presenting to the club the Rotary Tool-Kit. This tool can be used to strengthen our club. It explains how foundation, membership and public image are closely related in building a strong club. This triumvirate needs to be carefully woven so as to inspire current members, attract new members and strengthen public awareness to increase the friends of Rotary. Thank you, Kathy, for an excellent presentation (I still owe you a "Fun Year of Rotary" whoopee cushion).
Mid-week saw Paulette and a few other Rotarians take our donated Christmas items to the Salvation Army Christmas Store. The Army was excited to see us and continues to be extremely grateful for all we do. Remember that there are still openings for people to help out at the store while deserving parents do their Christmas "shopping."
Speaking of the Salvation Army, week's end saw several Rotarians ringing the bell outside of many local establishments to collect money for this worthy cause. Thank you, Larry Kearney, for spearheading this wonderful project. As always, the Trenton Rotary continues to "Do the Right Thing."
Of course, Friday evening was the club's Christmas Party at Sportsmen's Den. The drinks were flowing, the music was playing and all had a great time! The venue turned out to be absolutely fabulous. Not only was it fully decorated for Christmas, but the food was excellent, there was plenty of room to mingle and the staff was extremely attentive to our needs. A heartfelt "Thank you!" goes out to Paulette Dillingham for agreeing to tally the RSVPs for the event. I must also thank Paulette, Jean Wloszek and Rose Angela Gronda for helping take care of the final details at the location. And an extra "Thank you!" goes to Rose Angela for organizing the INCREDIBLE desserts that were served that evening. I also want to thank the Trenton Rotary/Trenton High School bell ringing band for joining us for a while and playing some Christmas music to entertain us. I finally have to thank my wife, Jackie, for organizing this from the beginning. Without her help, this event would not have happened.
I want to remind everyone that next Monday, December 23, is our Rotary Family Christmas luncheon. There will be Christmas music, fun and games and surprises for the kids. So please invite your spouses, your kids and your grand-kids and celebrate Christmas with us! RSVP to Ronnie Ruelle (Ronnie

Join us this Monday when the Trenton High School Chorale entertains us with various Christmas melodies.
As we get closer to Christmas, let's remember that there are others who will go without and do what we can to help them. Continue to "Connect the World" by "Doing the Right Thing." And remain true examples of the motto "Service Above Self."
