Dreams Do Come True!
by Rose Angela Gronda

I've wanted to go to Italy for several years now and I realized my dream this past March when my husband, Scott, and I spent 9 wonderful days traveling through this beautiful European country!  We started in Rome and traveled over 9 days to Orvieto, Assisi, Florence, Padua, Venice, Verona, Lake Como and finally Milan.  We enjoyed pasta, wine, pizza and gelato, among other wonderful dishes.  We saw the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Fountain, Juliet's balcony, and took a gondola ride through Venice.  I am 100% Italian so just soaking up the culture was awesome.  Dreams do come true!

Thought About Hosting a Foreign Exchange Student?

Please consider hosting a foreign youth exchange student for the school year 2017/2018!  When we host a student, the goal is to have three host families during the 12-month period and that gives the student a view of different families and lifestyles.  It also lessens the demands on the host families.  It’s a great learning experience for both the host families and the student and you often gain a lifelong family member!  It's very rewarding and helps to foster global understanding.  And as Bill Jasman demonstrated, you often have an automatic family and place to stay when you go visit their countries!  If you have any questions or are interested in hosting, please contact Rose Angela.
Thanks!

Members of the Rotaract Club of Bugolobi, Uganda, participate in their annual 1000 Smiles project, which has been recognized as the 2016 Rotaract Outstanding Project Award winner.

For all of its exemplary work on the 1000 Smiles Kanabulemu Edition project, the Rotaract Club of Bugolobi was named the International Winner of the Rotaract Outstanding Project Award. Members will be honored at the Korea convention in June and will receive $500 to apply to a future project. The club will use it to help women suffering from fistula, says Munkudane.
