Many of you know me as the principal of the high school but now my primary job is building and maintaining trust between the Trenton Public Schools and all of its constituents - students, parents, staff, and the residents of Trenton.
As Community Liaison Director, I want everyone aware that the Trenton Public Schools are committed to open, honest, and ongoing communication.
One aspect of my job is to provide two-way communication with people as we work to build relationships and share information with the community.
For example, the community of Trenton supported the Trenton Public Schools by passing a $57 million dollar bond on May 8, 2018.
I will be updating the community on the Bond Improvements and progress being made to the schools.. I want to present accurate information through a variety of media including the TPS website, Twitter and Facebook. I also want to gather data about the schools through surveys from students, staff, and the community.
We are fortunate in Trenton to have the Trenton Trib, the News-Herald, and other methods of print communication that are excellent ways to get information to the public.
I will also be working on establishing an effective employee communication plan to improve both internal communication and employee engagement throughout the schools.
I have already been, and will be working towards achieving a coordinated communication plan regarding safety issues and crisis management. Also want to maintain a positive media relationship to help enhance the district’s image at the local, state, and national level.
These relationships that are built throughout the community of Trenton are vital to having a strong school system.
We all benefit from a strong school system. The well being of our community depends on all of us being the best we can and I’m excited to be apart of it.
