Welcome to our speaker for today, Kurt Sebaly, Executive Director of Penrickton Center for Blind Children and husband of Rotarian Ruth Sebaly. Kurt will provide us with updates about the center.
The Installation Dinner took place on Thursday and it was a very nice event. Thank you to Bob and Laurie for making the arrangements. The food was very good and it was such a nice view right on the river at Elizabeth Park! Thank you again to this year's Board of Directors for all their hard work and support this past year! thanWe welcomed the new board for the 2015/2016 board and the gavel was passed to Bob Howey. A nice start to Bob's year as president!
Dr. John Bodell and his wife Janet were recognized for reaching Major Donor status at the Installation Dinner as well. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Paulette Dillingham for being named Rotarian of the Year! It's well deserved as Paulette participated on practically every committee this past year and attended as many fellowship events as possible. If a grandchild wasn't being born, she was there! This is a tough decision each year because we have so many hard-working members in our club. That's what makes it even more special.
Gabrielle Maciag was not able to attend the Installation dinner but we appreciate her service as this past year's Interact president. She did a fine job and served her club well. Thanks, Gabby! We know Peyton will step in and work just as hard this coming year!
The Christmas in July River Cruise took place on Saturday and it was well received. The boat was full and the mood was relaxed and fun! We had pizza and beverages, played Christmas trivia games and won prizes. We appreciate the hard work of Linda Francetich and her committee putting this together!

Foundation Minute for Week of June 22
Severe acute malnutrition kills millions of children around the world every year. Those who don’t die often suffer from stunted growth and other health problems. More children between the ages of one and three die of inadequate food intake every year than from HIV/AIDS.
In Sierra Leone, Rotary members are partnering with more than 20 clubs in the United States and Canada to prevent some of these deaths by supplying jars of specially developed peanut butter, known as “Ready To Use Therapeutic Food,” to treat children suffering from malnutrition. The project, funded by a global grant from The Rotary Foundation, began in January of 2013, and is continuing through September.
This project is one of many that Rotary members and their contributions to The Rotary Foundation have made possible.
