THE GREAT TAILGATE

 

We're just 9 days away from our "Great Tailgate" event and we're picking up steam!  We have a couple special guests committed to attending...a former Michigan QB, Dennis Brown, and a former Michigan defensive player, Mike Martin, in addition to our Emcee, Justin Rose!  We're working to line up a few more personalities this week.  We also have the MSU alumni band, the Trenton High School band, cheerleaders from Taylor Truman High School and more!  It's sure to be a fun night!

 

Please consider a sponsorship, buying a table or buying tickets to attend the event.  A signup sheet will go around at Monday's meeting.  We are also accepting donations of wine and spirits for the "Pyramid of Cheer" so please bring them in!

 

Keep in mind that the funds raised from this event will be shared equally between the Taylor Rotary Club, the Trenton Rotary Club, DYPAC and Penrickton Center for Blind Children....all worthy causes! 

 

Reminder to the committee members: our last meeting is this Tuesday, September 26th at 6pm at Noel Jackson's office.  Let Rose Angela know if you'll be attending or not.

Meeting of The Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Trenton

• Discussed Peddle Pub cost of $250 15 pp person BYOB for Sept. Club to pay ½ from Happy Dollars and member to pay half. $8.50/each. motion passed.
• Sept. 13 Summit $35/per member to be paid by club for those that want to go. , motion passed.

 

8/17/17 board meeting 

• Christ Net Sponsorship Donation- $1,000- Discussed, motioned motion passed
• TEF- Signature Event- $1,000 Sponsorship Discussed, motioned motion passed.
• Downriver YMCA-Golf Outing- Discussed, the group would rather do a $250 straight donation rather than the $500 asked.motion passed for $250.
• Rotary Club of Detroit- Discussed music fundraiser, John might go.
• Guidance Center- $500 for grape expectations sponsorship/and/or tickets. Discussed, Motion by Matt Hatty for $500 sponsor only, no tickets this year, motion passed.
• St Paul’s/Trenton Elementary Special School event- Discussed, $100 for backpacks  ect,  motion passed.
• Patronicity- IWLR Matching grant until 8/31. Discussed. Motion to approve $500 by  motion passed.
• Alex Stein-Scholarship run-Discussed about Club’s stance on donations to organizations, not individuals.  motioned for $250,  motion did not pass.
• Wayne Titus- El Salvador- Water project- Discussed, Motion by to donate $250, motioned passed.
• Trenton Trees-Matching grant of $1250 through district. Discussed, motion passed.
• Ethiopian Schools Desks and books- RI District Grant with Essex- Discussed, motioned passed.
• Boy Scout Request- Discussed and because it is an individual troop, request deferred.

SAVE THE DATE - Bringing the D Downriver

Here is some info on the Rockin the D event.

Save the date for the “Rockin’ the D” event on Saturday March 3, 2018 at the Crystal Gardens.

We will have dinner, drinks (open bar), dancing, silent auction, drawing and raffles, and games.

Our next meeting will on Monday October 9^th at 5 PM at Kathy Kane’s office at 2836 W Jefferson, you are welcome to the meeting.
