Greetings Trenton Rotarians!

What a Rotary week we had!

Monday evening, the board of directors and the executive Roar committee had a great meeting, working on making the Roar on the River a better event for all.  We have plans to revamp the executive committee going forward and create a succession plan to provide a more sustainable structure for the event.

Thursday evening many of our members attended the Million Dollar Legacy dinner at the Inn at St John's in Plymouth.

It was awesome to meet our Rotary International President, John Germ and his wife Judy. They are both lovely, genuine people, and were very easy to talk to and celebrate with!  John Germ made an inspirational speech that touched all our hearts.  He told of our quest to eradicate Polio an how far we have come.  Our own Chuck Howey was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his generosity to the Rotary Foundation over his lifetime with Rotary.  Several of the Howey family were able to join us to celebrate this wonderful event.  I know Chuck appreciated the honor and spoke a few words after the award.  Many of our members were also honored for their generous contributions to the Foundation, Kyle Stack & Bill Jasman, Noel & Debbie Jackson, Wes & Dee Mator, Paul & Mari Frost, Mike & Sherry McCullough. It was a magical evening!

The following day, Friday morning, we attended the Membership Luncheon at Fox Hills Country Club to induct one new Trenton Rotarian, Malak Taylor, sponsored by Kimberly Mott as well as 65 other new members in our District, inducted by our RI President. Welcome to Rotary, Malak, I know you will be a great Rotarian! Please make a point to congratulate Malak at our meeting Monday.

Saturday evening, many Trenton Rotarians attended the Trenton Education Foundation's Signature Event at the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club. This sold out event was a huge success to raise funds to help with the education of Trenton's students.

I love Rotary and this past week just made that stronger than ever.  I have never been prouder to be a Trenton Rotarian.

Let us all look for a person we know that would make a great Rotarian, and Just Ask!

Yours in Rotary,

Laurie
