Salvation Army Volunteer Program
Rotarians have generously taken 40 Angel Tree Tags from the Salvation Army Christmas program. Now the shopping begins to help make some children a bit happier this holiday. This is in addition to the 53 blankets for the teens we made in October. The deadline for the gifts is December 9 at the noon meeting and the 6:01 meeting. Please bring unwrapped with tag attached to gift.
This past week Jim Shropp, Ron Sheck and Dennis and Renee Levko volunteered at the Salvation Army registration for the Christmas program. If you would like to help at registration, it is being held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 - 11:00 and 1:00 - 3:00 at the Wyandotte Salvation Army through December 12.
Assistance at the Toy shop is the same location December 18 and 19 at 9:00 -11:00 and 1:00 - 3:00.
The Trenton Rotary Annual Christmas party is almost here. Sportsman's Den 15001 Sibley Rd, Riverview, is the site of this year's event on Friday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m.

Greetings Trenton Rotarians!
It was another prep week for the Trenton Rotary. The Wild Game Dinner committee held a meeting to go over some of the final details for the upcoming event. Things are in great shape, and it's looking to be another successful event. With less than two weeks to go, it's important that we all are in full promotion mode. We'd like to sell more tickets, so keep talking it up.
The Sham-Rockin' on the River committee also held a meeting this week. Along with firming up some of the details, the committee put together the promotional mailing to sponsors and guests. If you would like to help out in any way, please contact a committee member. We are always looking for new committee members with new ideas.
Several members of the Trenton Rotary spent a pleasant Friday evening at Orlando's Familia Banquet Center in support of ChristNet's Forever Grateful fund raiser. There were several unique items in the auction, the DJ played wonderful music and the guests enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, stuffing and gravy. All who attended had a great time as ChristNet held another successful event in support of their new building.
Keep in mind that the Rotary Christmas party is Friday, December 13 at Sportsmen's Den in Riverview. RSVP your intentions to Paulette so we may make proper preparations. Thanks to the efforts of Dale and Barb Malzahn, we will again be collecting toiletries for the St. Phillip's Food Pantry. Contact Dale or Barb for further details. Please continue to be generous toward those in need.
At last Monday's meeting, we heard from Ann Rudisill of Downriver For Veterans, who takes care of area veterans in need. If you were like me and had never met Ann, you had to walk away in awe of what this amazing woman does. Several Rotarians stepped up to help her with a couple of projects, without her doing more than just mentioning what she was working on. That's the charisma this woman has, the concern we have for those who gave so much for us and the generous nature of Trenton Rotarians.
Please join us at this week's meeting where we will meet Vincent Ziols. Vincent will speak to us regarding the Complete Streets initiative, which strives to create an environment safe for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders.
Have a wonderful week and a very Happy Thanksgiving! As you are feasting on the turkey and the Bears are feasting on the Lions, remember that Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all that we have and consider how we share our blessings. Continue to do the right thing and connect the world with your actions. Trenton Rotary truly exemplify the motto "Service Above Self."
