I was born in Wyandotte, raised in Southgate and graduated from Southgate High School. Bill and I have been married 25 years this May and have 5 children and 12 grandchildren. Bill was a long time member of Southgate Rotary and past president.
We love traveling, biking, walking and especially activities with our grandchildren.
I attended Western Michigan University for 2 ½ years then finished at Michigan State University (go green!) During college years, I worked for Ford Motor Company summers and holidays. After college I ended up at the newly formed Ford Land Development Company where Fairlane Town Center and Renaissance Center were being built. It was an exciting time with many Henry Ford II sightings.
After being a stay at home mom, I wanted my girls to attend St. Pius Catholic School (Ronnie Ruelle and I were lunch moms together). I got a part time job at the News Herald in Wyandotte but Heinz Prechter bought the newspapers and I quickly became full time being charged with forming a Human Resources Department. I was the Human Resources Executive Director for 30 years.
I joined Trenton Rotary in 1990 as the first woman member but had to leave after I began traveling for my job and my parents became ill. I am so happy to have returned in 2013 and I love volunteering for hands on community projects.
I am a Master Gardener and have been a docent at Indian Village Home and Garden Tour for the past 20 years.
I saw the Beatles at Olympia Stadium from the 3rd row which quickly became the 1st row! Glenn Frey was there too!!
