Trenton Rotary Club Presents Sham-Rockin on the River
Our big fundraiser is just 3 weeks away and your committee is working hard to make this event successful. We want to raise funds for the groups we support throughout the year.
Help us out if you are able by donating a sponsorship, an auction item, a bottle of liquor for our Tower of Cheer or by purchasing your tickets.

Secretary Corner
New club dress shirts have been ordered. One is a White Men's Shirt, my size with the club logo on it. A Green checked Men's shirt. Their are complementary White blouse and lavender Checked women's shirts available. Once I get the shirts, I'll bring them in and we'll see if we can get a shirt order in for uses like District Conference, district Assembly and other events we need to show a united front for. Thank you to all the Rotarians this year who had perfect attendance. I will see if we can get a system report out of club runner detailing everyone's attendance. Don't forget, District Assembly is April 18th, this year. at Schoolcraft College. It runs from 7:30 to 12:00 Noon. All board members and new members and any member interested in learning more about Rotary should attend. See you next Saturday at the Family Fun Fair. If you need Makeups, here's the way to go.

"The Ramblings of the Mad Hatter"
Greetings Trenton Rotarians!
It was another productive week for the Trenton Rotary Club. The week started out with Bruce Jocks presenting the year-end financials for our club and our foundation. The club is in good shape financially, but we need to continue to pay our dues in a timely fashion. Our foundation is looking good as well, with the investments performing well overall.
On Monday evening, we held our February 5:01 meeting. Several of us made our way to Sibley Gardens and enjoyed some fun and fellowship. This was followed by the 6:01 Group meeting. The Red Wings hockey game fund raiser is progressing nicely. We are paying $35.00 for tickets in the Labatt's Blue Club, making $6.00 per ticket. Plus, if we sell 100 tickets, we make an additional $500.00 bonus. These tickets normally go for $70.00, so it's like buy one, get on free! The area has a private concession stand and will be rocking with the Trenton Rotary on March 16. Sign up for the tickets at the next club meeting or email me your request. To make things easier, you can charge the tickets to your club account. The Fun Run that the 6:01 Group would like to organize has run into a little hiccup, as the opening of the International Wildlife Refuge keeps getting pushed back. Stay tuned for updates.
The Sham-Rockin' on the River committee held a meeting this past Thursday. Plans are going really well for the event on March 7. We're looking at a sellout, so don't wait to get your tickets. We are still hoping to get a few more sponsors. If you are interested, or know someone that might be, please contact the committee. We are also looking for donations of wine and liquor for the Pyramid of Cheer. Remember, this is one of our biggest fund raisers of the year, so please help out in any way that you can.
This coming Saturday is the Children's Fun Fair at the Westfield Center. If you are able to help with setup or tear down, or can help out in any way, please let Bill Jasman know.
Join us this Monday as Rotarian Bob Paulbeck continues Vocation Month with a presentation on the ins and outs of Social Security.
As we roll into the last third of the Rotary year, be mindful of Rotary International President Mark Maloney's theme, "Rotary Connects The World", as well as District Governor John Chamber's theme, "Do The Right Thing". If we live each day with these themes in mind, we will be living the Rotary motto "Service Above Self". Have a great week!
