May 18, 2017
The $27.5 million education and exploration expansion, which is slated to open in 2017 will, quite literally, put the zoo’s commitment to education at the very forefront. The Education Center, which will open in July, is part of the expansion project that is happening just inside the north entrance to the zoo and will be a centralized home for all of the zoo's formal classroom education, from preschool program through Zoo Academy high school. |

Open Skies Treaty Support
Oct 19, 2017
The Treaty on Open Skies establishes a regime of unarmed aerial observation flights over the territories of its 34 signatories. The Treaty is designed to enhance mutual understanding and confidence by giving all participants, regardless of size, a direct role in gathering information through aerial imaging on military forces and activities of concern to them. Open Skies is one of the most wide-ranging international arms control efforts to date to promote openness and transparency in military forces and activities. |
