Caregiver Strain

Ann is a seasoned oncology registered nurse who received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Science in Nursing and Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Yes, she was born and raised a Jayhawk. Most recently she received her PhD from the University of Utah.  Cancer survivorship and care partners are the focus of her clinical practice and research.

After serving many years as a director on the Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center board, Ann joined the staff as a program specialist earlier this year. Her role includes providing companion coaching, healing touch, clinical imagery, and support group co-facilitation for cancer survivors and care partners. She is excited about a new 3-year plan under development that will greatly expand services for cancer care partners and health professionals due to launch in 2025.  Ann also owns Health Forward, LLC, a private practice offering health and wellness support services for care partners and families caring for those with cancer and other chronic conditions.

Ann and her husband, Rick, live in Council Bluffs and have a blended family of three sons and four grandchildren which they consider the apples of their eyes.  Best titles ever are Grannie Annie and old Gramps.
