Today's guests were Emily Morrison from United Services presenting about Suicide Prevention, and Linda Sbrogna, Kathy's neighbor and former PBA member.

Presidents Report:
Rotaract will be meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at 6 pm at Bear Hands.  We are still looking for an official Liaison/advisor for the Rotaract club. The next social event will be held on Sept. 20 from 5:30-7 pm at Fort Hill Farm's Corn maze in Thompson.
Committee Reports:
 
Rotaract - Roberta invited everyone to a Halloween Dinner Dance on Friday, October 20th from 6-10PM at Putnam Elks.  Dinner, dancing, costume contest and basket drawing with proceeds to benefit Relay for Life.
 
Interact is also collecting Halloween costumes for TEEG with a need for bigger sizes.  Drop off a Hale Y until Oct. 13th or bring to Rotary meeting.
 
Woody reported that his family and Jon's family are working on restoring "Flag Rock" in Woodstock.  Originally painted with latex paint, it is wearing away and they are trying to preserve it to its original appearance.
 
Martha would like to have a brief meeting next week after the regular meeting with the Pumpkin Spice Party Committee to discuss food.  The Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice party will be held at her house on Sunday, October 22nd from 12-4pm.  $20 donation going towards General Fund.
 
Missy announced that the Wayne Hoffman Show has been rescheduled to Nov. 3rd at 7:30 pm at the Bradley Playhouse. Bradley Playhouse is a co-producer with Rotary and will be selling the tickets. Tickets are $20 student & seniors and $25 adult.    In turn, they are looking for volunteers from Rotary to help at their shows.  More info to come.
 
Kathy reminded us that the Retention Committees (both subcommittees - orientation & retention) and the Recruitment Committee will be meeting for approx. 1/2 hour after next week's meeting (Sept. 19th)  Shannon from Rotaract has been invited to participate as well.
 
Next week, Gary Osbrey and Pam Brown will be presenting about Rotary International Foundation.
 
Programs-
Emily Morrison from United Services presented about Suicide Awareness.   United Services provides behavioral health and social services for NE CT.  She discussed the #BeTheOneTo campaign for helping to prevent suicide by Asking, Being There, Keeping Them Safe, Helping them Stay Connected and Following Up with those that are struggling.  She also discussed the 988 crisis line, the 24/7/365 Mobile Crisis Response Team and what we can do to assist in preventing these tragedies.

Doug Porter's ticket won the $10 but he did not pull the 3 of spades. He gave to the Archambault Fund.

Happy Dollars
Pam is happy because her daughter Kristen eloped, it's her daughter Emily's 14th wedding anniversary and she has heard from Keith who says "Hello" and misses everyone.
 
Deborah is happy that Keith sent her a text too and she is happy about her recent travels.
 
Missy is happy that her son has finished his first feature length script.
 
Roberta is happy that her son and daughter-in-law are finally letting the grandchildren stay overnight with them.
 
Barry had a great trip to Nashville to visit a friend who recently had surgery, even though there were landing issues with the plane and a bomb scare when they were visiting Broadway.
 
Kathy is happy because she was promoted to Area Sales Manager and that her guest Linda is joining us today.
 
Linda (Kathy's guest) is happy to meet everyone and see those that are PBA members as well.
 
Marc is happy that his daughter and her husband are expecting and it's a boy!
 
Kristen is happy that her oldest granddaughter is going to college in TN.  She is also happy for the overwhelming support of the community & sponsors for the DKH Golf Tournament which raised over $127k.
