President's Report:

Thank you to our greeter today - Cheryl.

Thank you to those that helped out at the Back Pack Distribution Event at TEEG this past weekend.

There will be a Board of Directors meeting following our regular meeting today.

Doug is still looking for two volunteers to help with the newsletter.  Each person would be responsible for the newsletter for only 1 week out of the month.   Please see him if interested.

Secretary's Report:   We received a Thank you card from Julia Coyle, one of our scholarship recipients and a Thank you card from Access Agency for our donation.

Committee Reports:

Interact:  Roberta thanked everyone who helped out at the TEEG Back Pack distribution this weekend.   There were 40 families, consisting of 85 children in grades K-12, who received school supplies and back packs.    Also, TEEG received a grant for free sneakers for those children.  Roberta helped to size feet and the students will receive their new sneakers before school starts.    Also thank you to those who donated supplies and back packs to the event.
Program:
Today's program is a Rotary Service Spotlight.
Aileen Witkowski joined Rotary in 1991, worked in the food trailer, chili night and was president in 2004. She went to Africa and Thailand on rotary sponsored trips.   Aileen says "When opportunity presents itself, grab it to grow yourself and gain better community. Get involved. Do everything you can and live!"
Karen Osbrey has enriched her life through Rotary.  While working in the food trailer and auctions, she has created lots of friendships and learned alot about others.  Interact brought alot of joy to her life.  Karen says "Join and be a part of something. The benefit is creating friendships and evolving."
Jeff Rawson joined in 2007, having been sponsored by Ron Coderre.  Originally when he joined, he was community service focused but working on events such as Rose Sale and in the food trailer, he has built camaraderie with other Rotarians.  Jeff has made lifelong friends.  "If you get a change to say yes, do it!"

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings: Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for our relationships with each other and the action we take in the world.
