Presidents Report:

Congressman Joseph Courtney will visit on April 2.

New Rotarians are encouraged to attend the District Conference in Southbridge, MA. Their fees and lodging will be paid for by the district; they must stay overnight. Any Putnam Club member that wishes to attend may have their registration, but not their lodging, paid for by the club.

Reminder that the March 19th Club Meeting will be held at Day Kimball Hospital. If you would like to reserve for lunch, the deadline will be Monday, March 18th by noon. More details on that to follow.

The Good Friday Food Drive sign up list is on club runner; most slots are filled.

The 2-20 Club raffle tickets are printed and will be distributed next week. Drawing will be on May 7.

Rotary Day of Service will take place on May 18.

Annual Fishing Derby will take place in early May

Board meeting after the Club Meeting is postponed. A new date will be set.

Membership Committee - We are very excited about our new member, Tayler Shea Sazhin. Karen announced that we have had the largest number of new members in the district!! And there are more to come!

Interact Club: Relay for Life Interact Clothing Drive. Collecting gently used clothes, linens, belts, curtains and shoes. You can bring items in a 13 gallon garbage bag to Rotary or to Roberta's house, just please call/email her first if bringing items to her residence. (860.933.8603, robertarocchetti4@gmail.com). Citco Gas by Walmart and WINY are also accepting donations. Last day for drop off is Friday, April 26th.

The Club is also raising money selling Krispy Kreme Donuts on Saturday, March 16th at Citgo in Pomfret, WINY in Putnam and Citgo in Putnam by Walmart from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at only $15 per dozen of glazed donuts. To preorder call 860.933.8603 by March 12th

All Star Basketball Game: It's our 14th year with this event on Thursday March 14 at Putnam High School. If anyone wants to help out at either the 5:30 or 7:00 game, greeting and helping at the door, please see Jonathan Tremblay. Volunteers are needed to help from 5:00 - 5:30 pm and from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.

Scholarship Committee: If you know someone that wants to apply for scholarships, you can go to the website and apply.

Golf Committee: This will be on June 2nd. Letters will be going out in a week for information/donations. They are in need of T Sponsors. T Sponsors can be made in memory of someone, as well as advertising your business or other charities/events.

Amanda provided club members with a list of all events for the next couple of months!

Rachael was excited to see the UCONN Women win the Big East Tournament at the Mohegan Sun!

Amanda - Thank you to Doug for covering while she was on a great ski vacation with family and friends in New Hampshire. She had a blast!

Jen is happy that Gary O shared a picture of her girls working in the community! She is happy that she and her family will be going on vacation to the Outer Banks next week.

Roberta shared that she was unable to ski at Stowe this past week because of all the slush. She went shopping instead, and Michael was able to attend a model train show!

Bob Fournier celebrated a birthday. He went to Vegas and was able to see U2!

Amanda is happy that Cindy Nolan is an official Rotarian!!

Jay Wade announced that he had hiked Tuckerman' s Ravine, where a 20 year old was killed last week.

Doug - Attended three days of PETS training. Son Justin, his brother, and brother in law all celebrated birthdays!

Joe A. - Great trip to New Orleans last week

Gary attended the "Cereal Challenge" at Thompson Public Schools and loved how the entire school system was involved. He loved that after the event, the students carried all their cereal across the parking lot to donate to TEEG.
