Visiting Rotarians and/or Guests

Secretary's Report
Nothing to report today.

Presidents Report:
Amanda stated that Mind Candy was absolutely awesome! A huge success!  The show was both captivating and enthusiastic and there were no negative reports whatsoever.  Rotary received recognition as well. Amanda wanted to thank Jen Brytowski for her creativity and connections, Missy for her attention to detail and to Kristin for following through. We were just 12 seats shy of a sellout and 81 more seats sold than budgeted.  She also thanked all the sponsors that were in the room.

Next week's meeting on November 14th will be zoom only. Amanda will send out a link for that.

November 21st will be our annual Veterans Day lunch and please invite a veteran.

Committee Reports:

INTERACT- Next month will be another clothing distribution at TEEG. Details will be announced. They are still in need of volunteers for bell ringing set up. There is a new way this year to donate with live credit card taps for $5, $10 and $20 donations. Roberta will send out a volunteer sign up form.

PUTNAM ROTARY FOUNDATION: Joe Adiletta reported on the meeting held on October 19th. $618,988 is the current amount in all of the scholarship foundations combined. Nominations will be at the next meeting in January.

Programs-
The Danielson Coffee House was our program today.  Bruce Hay and Fred Ruhlemann spoke of the great impact that they are making with the veterans, meeting the needs of the hungry and how their program is sought after by other veterans who want to start their own veteran coffeehouse.  Their annual Santa's breakfast will be held on December 19th at the Municipal Building in Putnam.
Raffle & Cookies
Charlie Puffer pulled the winning ticket but not the 3 of spades. He donated his $10 to the Archambault scholarship.  Doug Porter's ticket won the cookies!

Happy Dollars
Jen B.- happy about the Mind Candy show and daughter called up on stage; her daughter's soccer team being undefeated; her lessons to her daughters that life is not a handout and Henry's Diner manager giving them large candy bags for free the same day, contradicting her lesson!

Paul Pikora - Anniversary of 38 years to wife Mary!

Missy - very happy about Mind Candy. Happy about the Work Unity Day event at her job, with food, singing, team building exercises, etc. very unifying and heartwarming.

Rachael - Happy about grandparent duty at St. James school trunk or treat event where Amanda was a fortune teller and she wanted to thank Amanda for doing that and bringing joy to the children.

Barry Shead - Amanda did a great job introducing Wayne Hoffman; Scott getting on stage at Mind Candy; campaigning with Woody and enjoying his humorous statement to the waiter at breakfast afterward!

Doug Porter - Saw bears at his home! Dennis Kelly had a bike accident and broke 13 bones but is back to work and doing very well. He is happy about that! Helping son-in-law install 72 feet of shelving in their basement...he ended up doing most of the work! Happy that the club gave money to the Foundation.

Gary - Happy to have Bruce and Fred with us. So proud of our Rotary group to see us grow and the $30,000 in scholarships that we give away each year!

Amanda - Mind Candy success, happy that Grandmother's surgery went well, and the great show on WINY with Kristen and Missy.

Joe -Thanks to Martha and Karen for the great event at Martha's house, as well as success of Mind Candy

Charlie - His idea for the next fundraiser, "The Scott Pempek What Is On My Mind"!

Kathy - Thank you to Martha for a great event at her house; spoke at a church conference last Saturday and have several ministry speaking engagements in the next week!

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings: Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for our relationships with each other and the action we take in the world.
