Secretary's Report
Nothing to report today.
Presidents Report:
The District Foundation Brunch will take place on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 in West Hartford. If anyone is interested in attending, please speak to Amanda for further information.
Going forward, the Club's bell will now ring at 12:15, a little earlier than usual, in hopes that this will aid in growing the club and retaining members.
Amanda will get input from the Club either via a forum or a survey before the end of the year, to collaborate on whether the Club should continue to meet three times a month or go back to meeting four times a month.
Committee Reports:
Rotaract- Roberta reminded everyone that they are looking for donations of new or like new Halloween costumes, particularly large or extra-large sizes. She will collect these next Tuesday, October 10th, at the meeting, and this will be the last day to collect. Members can also drop off costumes at the bin at the Hale YMCA in Putnam.
Mind Candy Event - Missy asked the members to please promote sales for this event being held on Friday, November 3rd at 7:30 PM. If members can share Missy's email regarding this and encourage people to buy tickets, that would help increase sales.
Recruitment Committee - Karen was not at the meeting today, but they met a few weeks ago and are looking at some other ideas to recruit new members.
Retention Committee - The retention group is coordinating purchasing printed "Missed You Cards" to send to those members who are not as active in attending meetings. The orientation group will talk briefly about different aspects of Rotary during our lunch meetings in the near future.
Programs-
Dominique Kintzer spoke about breast cancer and the different means and technologies available from Day Kimball to assist women and men with this disease.

Happy Dollars
Jen is happy about her 8th Annual Zombie Fashion Show event. This year they have 56 entries in comparison to last year where there were 48 entries. She also wanted to make note that for the corporate entry for Rotary it should be under the title, "The Rawtarians!"
Doug Porter - Biked the airline trail with his grandson from Pomfret to Putnam, covered in mud, and spent an hour cleaning the bikes, they were so muddy! He saw Amanda's spin group as well. Happy about their open house on Wednesday, October 4th.
Roberta - Had a great weekend with the grandkids, went to the pumpkin patch, did the spooky trail, etc.
Missy - Celebrated her birthday by ordering a new car, a Trailblazer! (Way to celebrate!)
Charlie Puffer - had a great college 50th reunion in Peoria, IL, although everyone did ask him, "Did you graduate?"
Barry - Great time at the Big E with family, not happy about UConn, Patriots and Giants not winning! And wife's BD on Sunday.
Kristen - Celebrating 46 years of marriage. (WOW!)
Amanda - Cynthia coming to the meeting. The Road to Wellness Fundraiser for the Livestrong Cancer program and other programs, raised $34,000 and her anniversary on Saturday.
Martha - took three of her grandkids shopping and it only cost $200! Went to the Big E for the first time.
The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings: Of the things we think, say or do
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for our relationships with each other and the action we take in the world.
