International Youth Exchange:

Patrick Odera is a Kenyan National, born in 1987 in Kibera slums in Nairobi to the late Mr Joseph Oduor Obunga and Mrs Monica Achieng Ayany. He has 3 grown up siblings who were unable to complete school due to lack of School fees.

The Rotary Club of Langata (Nairobi, Kenya), a sister club to RCK, identified Patrick as one of the needy children and undertook to sponsor his studies at Dagoretti High School, and later came to Uganda for Secondary study under sponsorship of RC Kiwatule and RC Langa’ata. He completed his A’Level at Seeta High and passed with very excellent grades. He was actually one of the top ten Arts students in Uganda having scored AAAB, and has now completed his Bachelor of Laws Degree at the Uganda Christian University- Mukono.

The RC Kiwatule, and RC Lang’ata, have since taken up paying tuition fees, accomodation and subsistence requirements for another Student, of Ugandan Origin, called Tony Bagalama, who has also completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Makerere University.
