President John gonged us in at 12:15.  The quote focused on forgiveness. Lunch was enjoyed.
We had one guest, Tim Long, classification Insurance, a past RCTL member and current applicant.
What is going on in the club:
  • Pacific’s Baseball on 8/7
  • Bocce Ball fun and fundraiser on 8/19
  • District Summer Celebration in the Park on 8/26
Tom announced he is selling tickets for the Rotary International Raffle, $20 for 1, $100 for 5. Prizes will be $6,000 in gift cards.  Tom also told the club that we may individually have points towards Rotary International Paul Harris recognition that we could transfer to someone else, so check with Tom.
Member Celebrations:
  • Fan Tan is a new Eagle Scout mom. Her son is a member of the Terra Linda Troop. She will donate $1,000 towards that group through our Foundation.
  • Tony donated $100 toward our Club to celebrate a Tahoe family get together and his 50th wedding anniversary to Linda.
  • Millie donated $100 given to her from a nurse that was on the Rotaplast Colombia trip with her, that also stayed with her in Cartagena following the mission.
  • Nathan donated $100 to the Scholarship fund in recognition of the Rotaplast Colombia trip.
  • Tom, celebrating a new home purchase in, donated $100 towards Fan Tan’s Eagle Scout Troop.
Raffle- 10 lotto tickets were won by President John. No word yet if he is an even bigger winner.
The green marble was won by Marty.
We then had our annual Club Foundation meeting. There were no minutes to approve from the last meeting. The Foundation’s financials were reviewed, then approved. Jeanne and Janet were voted in as new Foundation Board members. The new year’s Foundation Board members are:
Brian McLeran, Tammy, Sandy, Randy, Jeanne, Janet and John.
Next, we had our Club Assembly. We are planning two fundraisers this term, a Crab Feed / Social, and a Poker fundraiser. Also, Wayka agreed to hold a Bunco tournament as an additional fundraiser.
Other topics: Melissa Prandi is talking about a Project Amigo trip  in March, and Brian McLeran is suggesting we do a Past President’s Luncheon.
For John’s term, the Board Meetings, unless otherwise communicated, will be held on the 2nd Tuesday  of each month, at 5:30 p.m., at Nathan’s office conference room.
John said we need a “Sunshine” Volunteer; someone to send “Get Well” cards, and other social niceties.
Fan Tan then opened the Rotary “swag” merchandise store.
John got his “hat” attachment to his badge by donating over $250 to our club’s Scholarship fund, and wants to re-energize the funding of that Endowment Fund during his term.
