1990-99

  • Club adopts new banner designed by Ron Blitch.
  • 800 high school students take part in National Youth Services Awards Day.
  • Provided books to school children in the Philippines.
  • Refurbished Carter playground
  • Established USA/UK Stewart Cup Blind Golfers Tournament.
  • Hosted first RYLA Conference.
  • With the Rotary Club of Belize, supplied needed medical supplies and textbooks.
  • Actively support a number of neighborhood playgrounds.
  • Sponsored Teach for America fund-raiser.
  • Furnished textbooks for students in Nigeria.
  • Club begins funding college scholarships to high school seniors.
 

2000-09

  • 100+ people attend our business ethics conference at Loyola.
  • Provided over 5,000 hours and $350,000 to two-year Saving Warren Easton High School project with Rotary Club of Berkeley and others which enabled school to re-open after Hurricane Katrina.
  • $33,000 worth of books donated to Warren Easton in honor of our speakers.
  • Received Distinguished Partner in Education Award from the LA Department of Education.
  • Hosted young Antiguan cancer patient for a year during treatment at Children’s hospital.
  • Host city for Rotary Disaster Recovery Workshop.
  • Created member website and on-line member directory.
  • Established ClubRunner database.
  • Bolo published as email newsletter.
  • First woman president of club.
 

2010-19

  • 100th anniversary celebration.
  • Host club for the 2011 R.I. Convention for 18,000 attendees.
  • Brought first Internet service, computer equipment, beds, etc. to St. Xavier’s School/Orphanage in W. Sikkim province, India.
  • Interact clubs established at Ben Franklin and Sacred Heart high schools.
  • Collaborated with the Rotary Club of Manila on the distribution of more than $1 million worth of textbooks to schools throughout the Philippines that had been devastated by a Typhoon.
  • Became a sister club to the Rotary Club of Manila. 
 

2020+

  • Meet virtually due to COVID-19.
  • NORFI donates over $80,000,primarily for first responders and food assistance.
