SIDNEY PULITZER   A native of New Orleans, Sidney C. Pulitzer is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He served two years as an officer in the US Navy aboard the USS Howard Gilmore in support of submarines. In 1949 Pulitzer joined Wemco (formerly Wembley, Inc.), the world’s largest manufacturer of men’s neckwear. He was elected president in 1976, chief executive in 1989, and chairman in 1995. Wemco employed over 750 personnel, selling over sixty million dollars of neckwear and sports apparel worldwide. The firm was sold in 1997. Pulitzer also served as president and chairman of the National Neckwear Association and in 1987 received its Achievement Award as Manufacturer of the Year.

He published “Repair Washington” in 2014, three books on banking, and one on military preparedness. In 1968, he incorporated Advance Planning Inc., a SEC-registered investment firm providing Investment Counseling services.

He has served in many civic and charitable organizations including president and chairman of the World Trade Center of New Orleans, past Division Chairman of the United Way of Greater New Orleans, Chairman of Young Presidents Organization of Louisiana, board member of Touro Infirmary, Newman School, Touro Synagogue, Willow Wood Home of the Aged, The Downtown Rotary Club, and Country Day School.

Sidney Pulitzer taught Entrepreneurship as Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship for 22 years at the Freeman School of Business, Tulane University.
