The Crescent City Café’ is an independent, grassroots organization based in New Orleans that is led by a team of volunteers and supported by donations.  The Café’ serves breakfast to New Orleans’ homeless and low-income residents with dignity in a restaurant type setting.  The Mission is to connect adults together in service to our community and bring awareness to the issue of homelessness.  Breakfast specials change each time and volunteer servers take orders from guests and run them back to the kitchen where other volunteers are at the helm — cooking up the orders and plating the food. The Café’ is hosted at 3900 St. Charles Ave (Rayne Memorial United Methodist).

Since tasks are requested by the volunteers the morning of the event (they just signup for which job you prefer:  cook, take orders, greeter, runner, server, etc).  All volunteers are needed for one shift from 7:00 – 10:30 a.m.  I suggest we split into 3 groups.  Group 1 - 10 people  Group 2  11-20  Group 3 21-23 people  all slots for December 7th from 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

I hope to draw volunteers from the Tulane Rotaract Club as well as Tulane students in the class of Jane Cooper.  I've done this several times and it is really a fun event.

Please let me know if you need any clarification or need any additional information.
