For community leadership, interest in a technical career and, in honour of our local farming heritage, interest in plant science, three Delta Secondary School students received scholarships from the Rotary Club of Ladner at the school's Valedictory Ceremony on June 27, 2017.

Lucas Grabi, Johnathon Plett and Shelby Brubacher each received a Ladner Rotary $500 scholarship for each of these three awards: 
 
1.Involvement in community service, demonstrated community leadership, entering trades/technical program;
2.Involvement in community service, demonstrated community leadership;
3. planning a career in Floriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field.
 
A total 81 graduates received 121 scholarships and bursaries.
 
The Rotary Club of Ladner was one of 56 local organizations and donors presenting three of 98 scholarships for $1,500 out of $61,040.
 
With an additional 23 Dogwood District scholarships won by DSS students, valued at $28,750, the total value of this year's scholarship and bursary support was $89,790.
