In her "classification speech" as a new member of the Rotary Club of Ladner, Elena Murgoci, Executive Director of Little House Society, based in Tsawwassen, described her Eastern European heritage of parents who fled communist regimes and emigrated to Canada.
 
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Elena described her aspirations and career path in the hotel and hospitality industry and sales.
 
Elena is multi-lingual and holds a B.A. degree from the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A. in international business from Asia Pacific International Institute. She also earned an Executive Management Diploma in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. She has traveled, studied or worked in France, Germany, Mexico, the United States, and Thailand.
 
Following a period in the education field she became BC/Yukon Regional Director for the Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) and after six years there joined Little House Society which advocates, educates and collaborates with community stakeholders for the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and addiction.
