An auction of a stay at Whistler condominium, another at the River Rock Casino Hotel, an elegant black jacket with gold First Nation's motif, and a power paint sprayer were among the items auctioned off to club members, generating $1,800 for Rotary's global End Polio Now campaign. These funds, to be matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will ultimately generate $5,400 (US $4,117) for the campaign.

The End Polio Now campaign launched by Rotary in 1988 has reduced the number of cases of the crippling polio disease from 350,000 in over 200 countries to 22 in three remaining countries, thanks to world health organizations, governments and foundations which have joined the fight over the years.
There is still US$2.5 billion estimated yet to go to rid the world completely of the disease.
