Since the Ladner Rotary Splash Park opened in July, Ladner Rotary continued with this part of its plan to light up the play area for Christmas once again for the entire community. The lighting included two 65-foot trees and the adjacent gazebo.

Joining Delta Mayor George Harvie and Ladner Rotary President Kerry-Lynne Findlay to officially light up the park were Delta Member of Parliament Carla Qualtrough, Delta South MLA Ian Paton, Delta Councillor Dylan Kruger and Police Chief Neil Dubord.

Santa Claus was on hand as well in the multi-purpose room of the new adjacent Reach Youth and Child Development Society building – the Lois E. Jackson Kinsmen Centre for Children -- as ‘The Happy Wanderers’ sang seasonal music and volunteers, including Delta Secondary School members of the Rotary-sponsored Interact club, served hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes, thanks to McDonalds Restaurant and Save-On Foods in Ladner.
