After serving more than 37 years in healthcare, Cheryl retired in 2009.  During her career, she practiced bedside nursing for several years and subsequently served in several administrative positions of senior leadership in an acute care hospital setting.  Currently, Cheryl works with the Small Business Development Center as a Business Consultant for small business owners and entrepreneurs who desire to become business owners.


Cheryl has been a member of Rotary Club of Owosso since 2004 and has been involved in several club service projects and fund raisers.  Cheryl served as club president in 2011-2012.  During that time, the club’s activity increased in humanitarian projects with the club serving as the lead club in the first Hand Washing and Hygiene pilot project in the Dominican Republic.  She has served as the District Foundation Committee Global Grant Chairperson and was privileged to visit the Dominican Republic in November of 2013 and again in November of 2014. Cheryl is a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Paul Harris Society, and a member of the District Water and Sanitation Committee.


Cheryl has been involved in service in the Shiawassee community for many years in various capacities and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Lebowsky Theater. Cheryl has been involved with the Shiawassee Family YMCA with multiple terms as a board member and past board chairperson.  She has been a presenter for Leadership Shiawassee for several years speaking on leadership issues.  Cheryl served two terms on the New Lothrop Board of Education and has assisted organizations in the strategic planning process.  She was recognized as Humanitarian of the Year by Memorial Healthcare and was selected to receive the Athena award in her community recognizing leadership among women.

She and her husband, Jim, have two sons.  She enjoys gardening, music, reading, cooking, and most of all spending time with her five grandchildren.
