JAMES R. GOODHEART, Founder and Principal of Resource Policy Consultants, LLC has extensive inter-disciplinary experience within the natural resources, environmental and agricultural sectors.  He has recently completed over a 38-year career in both State Government and private non-profit conservation organizational leadership roles.  He focused on policy, legislative issues, environmental regulations and economic development projects within the specialized resource-based industries.
 
Recent Projects Included:
  • Lead Coordinator for the interagency State of Michigan staff specialists’ team assessing the Waukesha Great Lakes water withdrawal application (WI) (2016) pursuant to the Great Lakes Compact (2008). 
  • Developed and lead the State’s Interagency Mining Team, providing new innovative guidance documents and permit coordination timelines as a service to prospective companies.
  • Lead DEQ Executive Office Permitting Coordinator for establishing the new largest Particle Board manufacturing plant in North America-Arauco Grayling, Michigan.
His current consulting company provides guidance to clients seeking a “facilitated approach” in navigating the state and federal permitting systems.  In addition, he provides a direct legislative interaction service for resource-based companies considering locating within Michigan.  Lastly, he offers public speaking and presentations on these topics statewide.
