NASA and Children Giving Organization
Nicholas is currently a high school student at Khan Lab School. With a passion for robotics and artificial intelligence, he interns at NASA Ames Research Center where he co-authored a research publication at age 17. Working as part of NASA's Project PHALANX, a team dedicated to the development of a remote sensor network for use on extraterrestrial bodies, Nicholas has focused on the programming and algorithms behind the autonomous localization of individual sensors. Community service has also always been an important part of his life, as he co-founded ChildrenGiving.org which has successfully partnered with Microsoft in order to design and deliver weekly free virtual programming workshops to learners of all backgrounds. Currently, he also leads his school's COVID-19 task force, where they 3D print sanitary door handles Nicholas devised for the upcoming school year. If he were to pick one thing to work on for the rest of his life, it would easily be reinforcement-learning (Artificial Intelligence's intersection with robotics) and the mathematics behind it.
