Tissue Paper stained Glass Art

As an Egyptian-American artist, born in the vibrant city of San Jose, California, I've spent over a decade honing my craft as a paper artist. My journey began in downtown San Jose, where I developed a unique style of tissue paper art that plays with light and texture. In my apartment, just a few blocks away from San Jose State University, I drew inspiration from my dynamic surroundings. My art reflects the beauty of stained glass mixed with the delicate side of paper. I have a studio and workshop where I do commissions and teach my medium here in the city full time. 

I’ll be talking about how I got started making this type of art and will bring 2 large finished art pieces as examples of my work. I’ll also talk about my class that I offer here in San Jose and give a little bit of information on how the art is made. And finally I’ll talk about my future plans to sell art in france and about my trip there that has inspired some new artworks.
