Outgoing President Michael DeVito II gives farewell remarks.  He noted how the Interact Club at Sycamore High School helped start him on his Rotary journey and that it was his grandfather-in-law, Fred Peltz, who first invited him to attend meetings of the Rotary Club of Sycamore when he began his business career.  DeVito said he was “grateful, humbled, and honored to have been President.”
The satellite Rotaract Club held their installation of new officers, pictured l. to r. is Michael Devito II, Treasurer; Cole Regnery, Vice President; Trenton DeVito, President; and Katherine Kuhn, Secretary; with outgoing President Madeline DeVito presiding.

Officers of the Club for the 2021-2022 Rotary Year that were installed are, l. to r., Dr. Michele Jurkovic, Treasurer; Steve Wilder, Director; Tim Neubert, President-Elect; Brandon Diviak, Director; Bob Brown, Sergeant-at-Arms; and Sally Bruch, Secretary.
Bob Brown was named Rotarian of the Year recognizing his extensive Club promotions and fundraising and received a plaque from incoming President Paulette Renault.  As an example of his work, Brown set up a collection of sports photos to sell dinner attendees with money going to the club scholarship fund and then skillfully handled an impromptu auction of some golf items donated back for the same purpose.
Even though he was not eligible to be Rotarian of the Year, Bob Brown called up outgoing President Michael DeVito II to be share with him “honorary” recognition for keeping the Club so active despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic (prompting a standing ovation from those in attendance).
President Paulette Renault began her term with a kazoo fanfare and led a toast.  Pledging to “have fun,” she thanked Past-President Eric Jones for first inviting her to the Club, those who helped mentor her in club service, and urged members to “continue a great year for a great club.”

Request: Collect Vendor Cards at Art Fairs
Hello fellow Rotarians,

Below is a list of art fairs in the northern Illinois area that I found for the next few months.  There are probably more, but this is a start. If you are looking for a good time, art fairs are usually a lot of fun.  If you go, please collect business cards from vendors and any literature about the event.  Get them to me and we can create a data base of vendors for our future event.  Remember, no database, no event.  Let's all get behind this and have some fun.  Pick a fair and a couple of other Rotarians and make a fun day of it.
