This is one of the beautiful banners that Paul Stromborg had produced by local company, Banner Up, for our Outpost selling of Coroco Coffee benefitting our Club's "End Polio Now" campaign. Our Club's sales efforts and Karen Weckerly's wonderful Coroco Coffee supported the international campaign on World Polio Day.
Our next Rotary meeting will be Wednesday November 4th at 12pm via Zoom. We have much to discuss and we will be shaking things up with a break-out style start to our Zoom meeting as well as some fun enhancements to the Zoom environment.
These fun enhancements will not require anyone to know or do anything different than you have already been doing in Zoom calls, I will act as your guiding chaperone through the adventures of Rotary Zoomified!
We will be monitoring the State Guidelines closely for a plan to return to in-person meetings once again.
Please note that despite this being a different year than we are all used to, our Rotary Club has continued to grow at an AMAZING RATE!
This weekend our club had a pop-up tent event on Airport Road, selling coffee for EndPolio.
Karen Weckerly was very kind to provide three blends of her coffees, one light roast, one medium roast, and one dark roast. By my count we sold 48 bags of coffee for a profit of $240. Unsold coffee was returned, so there was no risk for our club. That money amount will be tripled by the matching grant from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition, a Rotary District 6420 check was presented for $1,000 for our Club’s Foundation and it’s “End Polio Now” Program under the strong Club leadership of Dr. Paul Stromborg. This check was presented by District Treasurer Steve Kuhn to our Club President Michael DeVito on Saturday at our pop up Airport Road tent. That's $1,720 more towards the goal of a polio-free world. To those Rotarians and Rotaract members who braved wet, cold conditions on Friday and all day on Saturday, "thanks!"

Several Sycamore Rotarians under the leadership of our President Michael and Rotarian Brandon Diviak coupled with core energetic Rotaractors braved the really lousy rain and wind on this past Friday to carry on the Sycamore Rotary tradition of "Service Above Self" by setting up a popup tent near the corner of Airport Road and Route 64. Although scheduled to open at 10:00 AM Friday, our opening was delayed until after the strong rains slowed down when our popup tent was set up in the still blowing wind....however our team's enthusiasm and energy still produced over $600 in gross sales that day of our products: Coroco Coffees, Raffle Tickets, Halloween Masks, and Pumpkin Festival Yard signs.
Saturday was even better with the Team's energy level at an all time high; it succeeded in selling nearly $2,400 in products to cars passing by our tent and Facebook customers who stopped by. Importantly, over 21 individual donations were garnered from supporters!
Special Thanks goes to the entire team; we couldn't have done it without you: Trenton DeVito, Grace Johnson, Madeline DeVito, Cole Regnery, Laura Regnery, Madison McGhee, Mitchell Doty, Paul Stromborg, Dave Hamilton, Bob Brown, Brandon Diviak, Michael DeVito.
These sales benefited a couple of different, but important Rotary charities: Coffee sales benefited our Polio Plus program, Yard Signs and Masks benefited our Rotaractors, and Raffle Tickets helped our Harvest Raffle sales for local food pantries and Rotary Charities!

The Rotary Club of Sycamore would like to thank all for their support of our Fall Harvest Raffle. This raffle became our clubs’ replacement for our annual pancake breakfast. The tickets were sold up until Sunday morning 10/25/2020 and the winning tickets were drawn on Sunday as well by 6 year old Theodore Diviak (See photo of Master Diviak with the winning tickets!).
The raffle will allow our club to offer support to our local food pantries in this time of great need. The three winners were Mark Hill, Bill Clancy, and Ed Emberson Jr. sold by Paulette Renault, Bob Brown, and Sue Emberson respectively. Out of 600 printed tickets, the club sold all but 82 which was a great success for our first raffle experience.
Thank you to all that sold tickets and a special shout out to our top five ticket sellers: Brandon Diviak, Bob Brown, Joyce Klein, Steve Kuhn, Paulette Renault and Paul Stromberg, we had a tie in fifth place. The board will be meeting to discuss disbursement of the funds to the local food pantries and how to help our other service projects this year.
