DeKalb County's Rotary Clubs and Rotary District 6420 have provided the funds needed to install a new tornado siren in Fairdale...something residents there have been clamoring for, ever since the April 9th twister which leveled their town.

A new siren will be installed at the corner of Brown and Main Streets; Bill Nicklas, president of the Fairdale Long Term Recovery Committee, says the siren would only be of use to those outside during inclement weather -- but Fairdale residents have been asking for one, to give them peace of mind.

Rotary District 6420 provided $16,709 for the siren; it has been ordered through a vendor, and will be available for installation in October.
