Recap: Meeting of December 9, 2015

CLUB ASSEMBLY

The mid-year Club Assembly featured a rundown of the Rotary Club's new Strategic Plan and Vision 2020, organized by the late Bob Smith.  President Russ outlined the plans, then asked each table to think of a project the Rotary Club could undertake before the end of the fiscal year which could total up to $25,000.  The suggestions were collected by Russ to share with the Rotary Board; a full report will be given at a later time.

 

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN

Heidi Wright presented a check fo $1,952 to Club Treasurer Michele Jurkovic, for the sale of Feed My Starving Children raffle tickets.  Heidi says our club raised $3,000 through ticket sales.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 - New member Mark Spiegelhoff was formally inducted into the Rotary Club; he is the CEO of the Kishwaukee Family YMCA.  Sue Emberson is his sponsor.

 - Chip Houdek reported on our outbound student from Sycamore High School; Gracia Watson is spending the school year in Wakayama, Japan.  See her blog on our home page, to find out the latest on what Gracia is doing.
