Guest Speaker: Sarah Cain
Historical documents, ranging from incorporation papers to birth and death records, are stored for posterity in the archives at Northern Illinois University...and the Regional History Center is constantly seeking new items to save for future generations.
Sarah Cain is the curator at the Center, working on behalf of NIU and the citizens of DeKalb County to preserve any and all historic documents and items they can locate. Members of the public are urged to provide anything of historical value which they may possess; the Center is looking for unique items such as photos, records and writings -- but often turns down items of sentimental value, such as family Bibles and personal effects.
She invited the Sycamore Rotary Club to donate any and all documents and artifacts which need to be preserved; the Club will soon be assembling such items, for presentation to the RHC.
