Guest Speaker: George Beasley

 

The Sycamore Rotary Club welcomed back an old friend, whose retirement hasn't seen him slow down; in fact, he is now working harder than ever on serving his new community...and bringing other like-minded civic organizations together.

 

George Beasley moved to Portage, WI for his retirement years; naturally, he joined the local Rotary Club, and spearheaded an effort to unify the various local organizations into a Service Club Association.  This group includes representatives of as many Portage-area clubs as wish to join, working together on projects of mutual interest and need for the community.

 

He has also given back in the public service area, having served on a local township board for seven years.

 

George says he hasn't really retired, just redirected his life; he has made a number of new friends, and found life in Wisconsin to be much like what he left behind in Sycamore.
