Guest Speaker: Eric Olson

 

Even with the rise of web-based news outlets and social media, the local newspaper still has a place in communications...as it remains the main touchstone for a community.

 

Daily Chronicle Editor Eric Olson discussed his approach to management of the paper; he came to DeKalb after 12 years with the Northwest Herald, its sister publication in Crystal Lake.  Olson says it's crucial for him and his staff to remain open to all segments of the community; he urges those with news and information to get in touch with him at any time, and to contact him when problems or mistakes crop up.

 

Olson is also a member of the DeKalb Rotary Club.
