Guest Speaker: Chelsea McGhee
Art has been a vocation for several generations in Chelsea McGhee's family; some of her older relatives have painted murals and/or run their own studios, and it's not surprising that she eventually followed the same path in opening a studio of her own.
She operates her own studio and design business on Brickville Road in Sycamore; but her work isn't confined there -- she has created works of art in private homes, businesses, restaurants, even a stable. Some of these are large-scale murals; one she recently did in Milwaukee was 25 feet high, requiring the use of a lift and her mother as a spotter.
During her presentation to the Sycamore Rotary Club, she gave the Rotarians a chance to create art of their own; using a chalkboard as their guide, the audience was challenged to draw their own version of a butterfly using crayons -- giving them a taste of what she teaches the students in her various art classes.
