The Chicagoland Skydiving Center has grown to become one of the premier skydiving locations in the United States, ever since its relocation to the Rochelle Municipal Airport two years ago.

Representatives of the CSC were on hand at the April 20th Sycamore Rotary Meeting, to talk about the increased interest in their company among skydiving enthusiasts.  Rochelle Rotarian Stacey Shewey says the skydiving school, the on-site restaurant and the meeting facilities have made the airport overall a successful operation for the city of Rochelle.

Jason Kane works as their main skydiving instructor; he says on weekends, they're so busy that their aircraft engines run all day long -- they refuel while running hot, and constantly take groups of up to 24 skydivers aloft from opening to sunset.

He says they emphasize safety; new jumpers operate in tandem with experienced skydivers, everyone is thoroughly trained before jumping, and their pilots adhere to strict flight patterns...allowing the airport to operate with normal traffic, even as they conduct jumps.

And Kane notes that the use of wingsuits is growing; the CSC just hosted the first-ever national festival for wingsuit flying, further expanding the interest in their location.  Marketing Director Becky Johns says they're always looking for opportunities to build interest in their business; they offer displays, demonstrations and other exhibitions to any organization or group which wants to find out more about skydiving.
