We were visited by Lonna Converso, Director of Marketing & Social Media from Midway Village. She brought copies of maps of the Village with almost 30 buildings and eight gardens. Their calendar of events shows just how busy they are with several different events per month, all throughout the year. They have approximately 500 volunteers and are always looking for more help, regardless of the age. Their World War I & World War II reenactments attract countless visitors and she said they’re proud of the fact that many of the replicas for the World War I event are actually made by the reenacters (because the original items are so rare and hard to come by). Their website is extensive with over 1,500 images. Midway Village is truly a Rockford gem and we’re grateful to Lonna for taking the time to give us a quick “tour”.
