Our guest was Jason Blume, Director of Stakeholder Engagement for Harlem School District 122. He was a teacher for five years, principal for five years and in his current position for the last four years. There are over 6,500 students and over 1,100 staff in the district and Jason oversees all communication, the website and the strategic planning process. There are six goals in the long-range plan and he especially likes that one of the goals is fostering “Harlem Pride”, giving it that “home town” feel. He talked about many of the programs, the business options and challenges facing the district. Overall, a very informative and interesting talk.
