Our club was well represented at the international conference in Toronto.  The conference was held in the huge sports arena with an estimated attendance of about 25,000 Rotarians.  The breakout groups were in a separate building about 1/4 mile away which is similar to Chicago's McCormick Place.  While John & Marta Hurley didn't get to hear Princess Anne, they said they were very impressed with former First Lady, Laura Bush.  Tom Brooks & Dave Smith enjoyed a dinner with other Rotarians over 30 stories up and overlooking Lake Ontario.  There were pictures of that great view as well as the spectacular nighttime skyline of Toronto.  One of the highlights for John & Marta was the Hockey Hall of Fame, where they were surprised to learn that the Stanley Cup stays on display while a copy travels to the winning team.  Anita mentioned that if you make a foundation contribution while you are at the international conference, you will receive a Rotary scarf or tie for every $150 contributed.  She was happy to present our newest young members, Ciara & Rocco with a scarf & tie, respectively and President Dave Smith received a tie from Anita as well.
